The correspondent of the newspaper at Stockholm, Sweden reported that the Parliament (Rijksdag) in the coming week had to approve a post of around 1,000,000 Swedish crones to purchase extra material for the defence. The building of two ironclads of a new design each of 7,000-8,000 tons and with a speed of more as 22 knots was planned.(1) Their vital parts were to be armoured which would be strong to withstand 20,3cm projectiles and even special armour penetrating bombs thrown by planes. Their armament was to consist of 2x24-25cm guns (two fore and two aft ship), 3x2-12cm guns and anti aircraft guns of 7,5 and 4cm guns. According to the Swedish press were some time ago at the The British Power Boat Company some MTB’s ordered similar to the 18 delivered by this company to the Royal British Navy. Their main dimensions were 19 x 5, metres and with a displacement of around 24 tons armed with 2 torpedo tubes, depth charges and an automatic gun. The Swedish MTB’s were to have a sped of 40 knots and were probably delivered in the second half of this year.

Note
1. In 1944 and 1945 were the two 8,200 tons cruisers Tre Kronor and Gota Lejon of the Tre Kronor-class launched although armed with 15,2cm guns. The building of the ironclads was never realized.
