F. Mulder at Stadskanaal, Netherlands building steam tugs Cornelia and Bona Spes II according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 20 March 1931
An item reported that the new steam tug Cornelia executed her trials on the North Sea well. She was via mediation of ship broker P.A. van Bouchaute built for account of R.P. Meeusen, both of Terneuzen. The casco was manufactured at the shipyard of W. Mulder, Stadskanaal with the engine and boiler were delivered by the N.V. Machinefabriek ´Bolnes´, Bolnes. Fitted out with a triple expansion 180/200 ihp engine and a cylindrical lying boiler with a replaceable Moriton fire channel. Dimensions 20,30 x 5,16 x 230 metres. Some time ago was a similar tug called Bona Spes II built for account of H. Vermeulen, Dordrecht. Both tugs were fitted out to the latest standard and thanks to their ice strengthened bow suitable to be used as icebreakers.
