Former Dutch corvettes Banda and Ambon handed over to Indonesia according to the Dutch newspaper De vrije pers dated 3 April 1950

An item reported that on the 6th the Royal Netherlands Navy would hand at Surabaya over two corvettes to the Alris. It were the former Hr.Ms. Banda (1) and Ambon (2). In a earlier stadium were also two corvettes and more as 30 smaller vessels handed over.

1. Laid down on 29 January 1941 by the Cackatoo Dock&Engineering Company, Sydney, Australia as the fleet minesweeper HMAS Woolongong and launched on 5 July. Bought by the Royal Netherlands Navy was she commissioned on 11 February 1946 as the Banda first as minesweeper, later as corvette and patrol vessel. Displacement 790 tons and as dimensions 56.79-57,45 x 9,45 x 2,54 metres. The horsepower of 1.750 ihp allowed a speed of 15 miles. In Dutch service numbered her crew 75 men and consisted her armament of 1-10,2cm gun, 1-4cm machinegun and 4-2cm guns. In Indonesian service renamed Randjawali.
