Russian four mast barque (ex-Padua 1925-1946) Krusenstern 1946-


Laid down on 24 June 1925 at the shipyard of Joh. C. Tecklenborg, Geestemünde, Bremerhaven, Germany with yard number 408as the Padua for account of F. Laiesz, Hamburg as part of  the famous Flying P-line and launched on 11 June a year later and used on the shipping line between Hamburg and Chile. On 12 January 1946 handed over to the Soviet Union as part of the reparations and renamed Krusenstern in service of the Soviet Union as a survey annex training ship. In 1966 transferred to the department for fishery but still used as training ship. Nowadays homeport Kaliningrad, Soviet Union. IMO 6822979, MMSI 27324700 and callsign UCVK. Gross register tonnage 3.064 tons and as dimensions 114,4 x 14,02 x 6,8 metres or 375‘x 46.9‘ x 22‘ and a height of 51,3 metres or 168‘. Sail area 3.631 square metres. Her crew numbers around 2220 persons of which 68 belonging to the basic crew. Speed 17,3 knots.
