American revenue cutter Pawtuxet serving as support ship according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 26 December 1865

An item reported that the fine revenue steam cutter Pawtuxet got the task during the winter to patrol along the coast between Boston, cape Ann and Holmes Hole supporting if necessary other ships. She carried with her extra provisions, fuel, water and so on to supply other ships if wanted.
