American whaler China lying in September 1865 off St. Michaels according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 23 January 1866

An item referred to a letter written by captain Gifford on board of the bark China of New Bedford reporting that she was on 13 September 1865 off St. Michaels loaded with 90 barrels sperm oil and bound for Tristan Ground.
