Norwegian tanker Polycastle 1939-1962/1963


She was drydocked at the shipyard Kon.Mij. De Schelde at Vlissingen, Netherlands for account of Guthrie, Murdoch& Co. N.V., Antwerp, Belgium. This latter firm wrote on 19 May 1952 to the shipyard that she was expected to arrive around the 24th at Antwerp to unload her cargo, than to go back to open sea to ventilate her tanks and to arrived round the 30th at Vlissingen. For the repairs was round five days calculated. Dimensions 469’2”x 61’1”x 34’5” or 141,73 (between perpendiculars) x 18,52 x 10,36 metres and a gross tonnage of 8.267 tons and 12.820 tons deadweight. Steel-built. Launched on 16 February 1939 by Eriksbergs Mekaniske Verkstads A/B. Gothenburg, Sweden and completed in April. Owned by A/S Kristansands Tankrederi II and managed by Einar Rasmussen. Kristiansand, Norway. Broken up in 1962-1963.
