American whaler Martha condemned in November 1874 according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 5 January 1875

An item referred to a letter written by captain Stanton of the bark Martha of New Bedford reported that she was lying with problems on 20 November 1874 in the Bay of Islands. She was leaking and needed to be examined. Another letter dated the 27th referred to this examination saying that she was condemned. Her cargo of 600 bbls. humback oil was stored waiting to be transport towards New Bedford.
