American whaler Merlin unloading catch at Honolulu according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 3 January 1865

An item reported that the bark Merlin of New Bedford transferred at Honolulu 150 lbs whale oil to the Cicero bound for New Bedford and 2.400 lbs bone to the John Wells. The Merlin intended to go to the West for sperm whaling.
