Royal British navy testing Ripon torpedo bombers according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1931 no. 2

HMS Eagle

An item reported that the British aircraft carrier Eagle was fitted out with some Ripon torpedo bombers with which regularly was trained. Those planes were fast and with a larger climbing capability. Although the torpedoes with which these planes were fitted out was smaller as the ones used on board of ships they were still capable of disabling each vessel. Experts however were not united about the value of this weapon except for that in times of war each surface unit had to be able to defend herself against air attacks.
