An item reported that the schooner Mercy Taylor former of Dennis but nowadays of New Bedford was bought by J.M. Taber of Holmes Hole with the intention to use her in the North Atlantic whaling. Captain was to be Thomas Foster, earlier 1st mate of the Gazelle of New Bedford.
