Dutch marines got except for the usual portions since 1 April also cheese according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche en Nieuwedieper Courant dated 8 April 1860

An item dated Den Helder the7th referred to tidings from Amsterdam reporting that since 1 April the marines except for the normal portions immediately after the reveille were to be supplied with coffee, bread and cheese.
