An item dated Den Helder, Netherlands the 20th reported the arrival on the evening of the 19th of the Dutch bark ship Willem Hendrik captain Beckkering coming from Batavia, Dutch East Indies. On board were more as 100 men belonging to the colonial troops which would depart the next morning at 08.00 o’clock via a screw steamboat towards Amsterdam and from there to Harderwijk for their dismissal. According to rumours died during the voyage 15 soldiers, the 2nd and 3rd mate, a female passenger and a young son of the captain.
