American whaler lying at Honolulu, Hawaii according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 2 December 1862

A letter from captain Sisson written on board of the bark Coral of New Bedford at Honolulu, Hawaii on 14 October reported that she arrived there on the 4th returning from the Arctic Ocean. Her catch consisted of 7 whales resulting in 800 barrels of oil and 2,00 lbs of bone. Further bought Sisson from natives living along the Arctic shore another 10.000 lbs of bone, 1.800 lbs of walrus teeth and 400 fox skins. To Bremen was for 1,5 cent each pond freight 15.000 lbs bone sent. The rest of the bone was sent with the Raduga homewards. Her next cruise was towards New Zealand or Chile before retuning home. Windy weather in the Arctic Ocean since the middle of the month August caused the loss of 4 whales lying alongside the ship.
