Dutch screw steamship 4th class Zr.Ms. Kijkduin replacing screw steamship 3rd class Soembing at Curacao according to the Dutch newspaper Heldersche Courant dated 23 October 1869

An item dated Den Helder, Netherlands the 22nd referring to tidings from Curacao dated 22 September reporting that the Dutch screw steamship 4th class Zr.Ms. Kijkduin arrived there coming from Surinam to replace the screw steamship 3rd class Zr.Ms. Soembing. The latter was after the arrival of the Dutch brig Raphael loaded with provisions to return to Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands.

1. Laid down on 12 April 1861 at the navy yard at Amsterdam, launched in the afternoon of 2 December 1863 and decommissioned on 26 August 1876 and sold to be broken up.
2. Laid down at the navy yard at Vlissingen, Netherlands on 17 May 1856, launched on Saturday 29 November and condemned in 1872. The newspaper Middelburgsche Courant described her in December 1856 as a schooner with auxiliary steam power.
