Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Maas and brig Zr.Ms. Snelheid departed De Helder, Netherlands towards open sea according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Courant dated 21 May 1835

An item dated Vlissingen, Netherlands the 20th reported that on the 16th the Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Maas (1) captain Ariens and the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Snelheid (2) commanded by Ferguson left Den Helder, Netherlands towards open sea.

1. Frigate 2nd class, Department Rotterdam, launched at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands 15 April or July 1818, launched 30 October 1822, guard ship 1842, stricken >1847-1853<, 1460 tons displacement, 44 guns.
2. Advice brig, launched at the navy yard at Vlissingen, Netherlands on 22 March 1833 door C. Soetermeer, scrapped 1849, sold 1850, dimensions 28,00 (load line)x 7,70 (inner hull) x 2,9 (fore)-3,70 (aft) x 3,86 (depth below gun deck) metes and an armament of 14 guns (12-12pd carronades and 2-6pd guns).
