In the Dutch parliament were complaints about her. So it was said that her draught was more as contracted and her seaworthiness was also a point of discussion. The minister of navy answered that the draught wasn’t a problem and could be saved by reducing her weight and small alterations of the paddle wheels. A extreme seaworthiness was not needed for her serving in the tidal inlets and could otherwise not be expected van such a small paddle steamboat.
The newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 15 May 1888 reported that the on Saturday launched paddle steamboat destined for the survey service was to be named Buijskes the honour the former head of this service. Another newspaper the Vlissingse Courant dated Friday 8 February 1889 supplied more details bout the trials on the Tuesday and the Wednesday before on sea. On Tuesday was the draught 1,60, a day later 1,70 metres. Present during the trials were chief engineer advisor Beeloo, chief engineer and head of the office for material, inspector of steam service Beucker Andreae, head of the survey service Smit van den Broek, commanding officer of the Buyskes De Jong and the board of the shipyard. Both trials were really successful. The engine performed very well just like the newly four-bladed paddle wheels which worked without any problems. The edition dated 10 August reported that she would brought in the second half that month to the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands. There was she to be commissioned. The newspaper De Tijd dated 4 June 1909 reported a public auction at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on Thursday 1909 at 11.00 o’clock o the stricken paddle steamboat Buyskes. After the sale was she towed by the tug IJmuiden towards Rotterdam, Netherlands.
