Nederlandsche Handel-Maatschappij (N.H.M.) hired Dutch bark baron van Pallandt as troop transport according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 20 August 1862

An item reported that the N.H.M. hired the Dutch ship Baron van Pallandt van Roozendaal captain Van Hoogenstraaten to transport from the Netherlands towards Batavia Dutch East Indies 150 military, 6 cabin passengers and 2 children to embark in the second half of July and probably 12 non-commissioned officers daily food money ƒ 0.80 costs (the so-called steersman table) and transports ƒ 150,00 each.
