Dutch ship Tollens transported troops to the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Samarangsch advertentie-blad dated 8 January 1858
An item reported the intended departure on 13 November 1857 by a detachment of 150 non-commissioned officers and soldiers from Harderwijk, Netherlands to embark the 14th at Rotterdam, Netherlands lying Dutch ship Tollens captain T. van Rossum. The detachment was commanded by infantry colonel J.A. Waleson accompanied by 1st infantry P.E. Perk, 2nd artillery lieutenant G.F.W. Borel 2nd engineer lieutenants J.P. van der Eb and C.G.H. Coster and officers of health 3rd class E. Benjamins and J.D. van Roggen.
