An item reported the arrival at Willemstad, Curacao on Wednesday the 23rd of the Dominican corvette Cibao commanded by captain J. Naar coming from Santo Domingo. On board was minister Manuel J. Delmonte with the mission to sign a treaty of friendship, commerce and shipping between the Dominican Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands between him and the governor as was allowed by the Dutch crown. The Cibalo exchanged gun salutes with the fortress Amsterdam and the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Koerier (1) commanded by W.H. Dittlof Tjassens. Also on board was the admiral of the Dominican navy Juan Bautista Cambiaso (2)who left in the morning of 25th November on board of the Dutch schooner Esther captain J. Capriles towards St. Thomas. The Cibalo left the same morning back to Santo Domingo.
