Spanish armoured frigate Numancia 1863-1916
With an iron hull but still ship-rigged, was she laid down at the shipyard of Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée, La Seyne, France on 22 April 1862, launched on 19 November 1863, completed on 17 December 1864, commissioned in 1865, rebuilt at he same shipyard in 1897-1898, stricken 1912 and sunk on 17 December 1916. During her rebuilding rearmed with 4-6.4” quick firing guns, 6-5.5” quick firing guns, 3-4.7” quick firing guns, 12 machineguns and still2 torpedo tubes.
