American whalers Jireh Swift and William Gifford transported partly of her catch with the Jas. Allen homewards according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated 28 June 1859

An item reported that the ship Jas. Allen on the 25th at New Bedford, USA was loaded with 40 bundles bone from the bark Jireh Swift (1) for Swift&Allen and 7 bundles bone from the bark William Gifford (2) for Wm. Gifford, New Bedford.

1. Of New Bedford, measurement 454 tons, captain Earl, shipping agents Swift&Allen, departed on 15 July 1857 to the North Pacific.
2. Of New Bedford, measurement 320 tons, captain Baker, shipping agent William Gifford, departed on 31 August 1858 towards the North Pacific.
