American whaler Emerald bound for Kodiak according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 5 July 1859

A letter written by captain Peiree on board of the bark Emerald of New Bedford, USA on 27th April at Honolulu, Hawaii reported that she was destined towards Kodiak, Alaska. They loaded 2.298 gallons sperm oil and 11.636 gallons whale oil on board of the Chapin bound for New Bedford.(1)
