1. Ernst Wilhelm Eduard von Knorr (8 March 1840 Saarlouis, Rheinland-17 February 1920 Berlin, Germany) retired indeed in 1899 although with an appointment as admiral à la suite of the navy officers corps. Between 1856 and 1899 in actual service. In 1895 was he raised to the German nobility.
