Sailors of Greek corvette Amalia involved in fight with local habitants of Marseille, France according to the Dutch newspaper Vlissingse Curant dated 3 March 1843

An item reported that at Marseille, France on 21 February Greek sailors of the corvette Amalia fought with local inhabitants. The Greeks fled to their boats when the locals started to throw with pavers. According to the first tidings were 3 Greeks drowned, one deadly wounded and several others wounded. French soldiers of the fortress St. Jean did not succeed in ending uprising.
