French unprotected cruiser Cosmao visiting the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Bataviaasch handelsblad dated 26 November 1873

An item dated Macassar, Dutch East Indies 15th reported the departure of the French warship Cosma captain Lefevre towards Batavia, Dutch East Indies.(1)

1. This must be the unprotected cruiser Cosmao, laid down at Lorient, France in 1856, launched in 1861, completed in 1862 and stricken in 1881.
