Austrian screw steam corvette Saida visiting the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Java-bode dated 16 March 1893

An item dated Batavia, Dutch East Indies 16th reported the arrival of the Austrian war steamship Saïda coming from the north. The edition of the 22nd reported her departure towards Surabaya, Dutch East Indies. Commanding officer was Sachs.(1)

1. Screw steam corvette, laid down at the Pola Naval Yard [nowadays Pula, Croatia] in September 1876, launched on 2 July 1878, completed on 14 August 1879 and broken up in 1920. Originally armed with 11-15cm guns, 1-7,5cm landing gun to which later 2 machineguns were added.
