Dutch tug Pernis commissioned and stationed at Maassluis, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwe Schiedamsche Courant dated 18 April 1891

An item reported that the newly built Dutch tug Pernis of L. Smit&Co., was commissioned and stationed at Maassluis, Netherlands. She was built using the latest methods becoming the fastest and most efficient of all tugs of this company. Even the towing lines were with the steam engine winded. As her captain was C. van Dijk appointed. Earlier he commanded the Vlaardingen ion which he was replaced by J. Koster, ex-captain of the Valk. The wheelsman of the tug Zeeland became captain of the Valk.
