Italian navy floating crane built at Schiedam, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Schiedamsche Courant dated 23 July 1911

An item reported the planned departure at 08.00 o’clock next morning from the shipyard Gusto (firm A.F. Smulders), Schiedam, Netherlands of the huge crane built for account of the Italian government. She was to be towed by the Dutch tug Schelde captain W. Verschoor of the Internationale Sleepdienst Maatschappij towards Spezzia, Italy.(1)

1.The 150 tons derrick crane built with yard number 410 for the Italian navy?. The edition dated 28 June mentioned a giant floating crane able to lift 150 ton with a range of 26,50 or 25-40 ton with a range of 45,50 metres or with 110 ton when the arm of the crane was point straight upward with a range of 22,25 metres.
