Dutch steam hopper Ardjoeno performed well during trials according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 26 February 1919

An item dated Ijmuiden, Netherlands 24^th reported the return of the at the shipyard of the Kon. Ned. Grofsmederij at Leiden, Netherlands for Dutch East Indies account built steam hopper Ardjoeno from her successful trial on the North Sea. She was to be fitted out further at Amsterdam, Netherlands with Bureau Wijsmuller responsible for her transport towards the Dutch East Indies.
