An
item referred to a tiding of the Dutch tug trawler Marie Cornelia (IJM 264)
which after her arrival at IJmuiden, Netherlands reported that her crew on
Tuesday afternoon around 17.30 o’clock some miles north east of the Doggersbank
a heavy explosion heard. After a smoke plume was nothing sighted or heard
again. Just before was a probably lugger of IJmuiden sighted which was fishing
there and now completely disparaged. It was feared that she was lost by a mine
explosion.
