Dutch tug Volharding contracted for government service between 1915 and 1934

The firm G. Doeksen&Zonen, Terschelling had to deliver the tug  Volharding with a gross register tonnage of 135,34 tons, a draught of 7.5’, 360 ihp horsepower and a maximum constant speed of 11 miles. She was to be present at Willemsoord, Netherlands within 24 hours after the order of the Navy Commandant at Willemsoord for service as communication vessel and to assist by the war buoy laying off Terschelling during the same mobilisation. Her bunkers were to fully filled with enough oil and grease for 8 days steam (on Government costs). She was not  be armed. Crew numbered 7-8 men.

The first contract with this firm dealing with the Volharding was approved by the minister on 19 March 1914 and was finally cancelled on 5 October 1929 ending since 5 October 1934.
