French privateer la Renommée captured two British merchants ships according to the Dutch newspaper Goudasche courant dated 16 April 1796

An item reported that the French privateer la Renommée captured two British ships one loaded with orange [called China’s Appelen=Apples from China] en and other fruit and the other ship with indigo, cotter, co chenille and so on. The latter ship had an estimated value of 400.000 livres.
