French privateer Dumouriez captured Spanish ship Nuestra Senora de la Conception according to the Dutch newspaper Ommelander courant dated 7 May 1793

An item dated London, England 30th April reported the arrival at Spithead, England on the 28th of the HMS Edgar part of the fleet commanded by admiral Gell with a Spanish prize valued at least 800.000 pond sterling. On board were 683 casks of silver coins. The Spanish ship captured was taken from the French privateer Dumouriez after a fight of 5 hours. The privateer armed with 20 guns and a crew of 200 men was also captured. The Oprechte Haerlemsche courant dated 4th published another story. According to this newspaper recaptured the British privateer Achilles from the French privateer Dumouriez the Spanish ship Nuestra Senora de la Conception underway from Vere Cruz, Mexico towards Cadiz, Spain and took her into Baltimore, Ireland.
