American whaler Waverly lying at Fayal, Azores according to the Whalemen’s Shipping List dated Tuesday 6 September 1859

A letter written by captain Vinal on board of the bark Waverly of New Bedford, USA dated Fayal, Azores 13th July reports her with a catch of 95 barrels sperm oil shipped home with the Azor. Their new destination was the Camilla Ground with the intention to return to Fayal at the end of August. Her first officer was heavily wounded while cutting a whale.(1)
