Dutch brigs Zr.Ms. Venus and Haai and the frigate Prins van Oranje in the Dutch West Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated 30 July 1850

An item reported that the Dutch brig Zr.Ms. Venus (1) via the islands St. Eustatius and St. Martin {Sint Maarten) departed towards Surinam. The arrival of the frigate Zr.Ms. Prins van Oranje (2) and the brig Zr.Ms. Haai was expected on short notice.

Glavimans Jz. in 1833, launched 23 May 1838, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 1 December 1845-16 May 1846 and 3 October 1851-afternoon 19 April 1852, free loan to the institute of sailors of the KNZRV at Amsterdam, Netherlands in 1862, stricken 1867, 29,8 (loadline) x 0,2 (inner hull) x 3,4 (fore)-4,5 (aft) x 4,5 (hold below main deck) metres, 565 tons displacement and an armament of 18 guns (16-30pd carronades, 2-6pd guns). 
2. Ex-Waal, frigate 1st class, call sign GQSB, on stocks at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands by P. Glavimans Jz.August 1828, launched 16 May 1840, renamed Prins van Oranje 1844, later guard ship, sold to be broken up 1897, dimensions 54 (load line) x 14 (inner hull) x 5,8-6,3 (aft) x 7,13 (hold below upper deck) metres, 2.481-2.485 tons displacement, 60 (peace:30-30pd guns, 30-30pd carronades, 2-12pd guns))-70 (war) guns and a sail area of 2.170m2. 
3. Brig 1st class, on stocks at the navy yard at Rotterdam, Netherlands by Glaavimans on 29 October 1838, launched on 11 May 1842, docked at the navy yard at Hellevoetsluis, Netherlands 30 December 1842-12 January 1843, 25 October 1849-27 March 1850 and 18-20 February 1851, last mentioned in 1861, dimensions 31,50 x 9,5 x 4,50 metres, 546 tons displacement and armament of 18 guns.
