Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden underway from the Netherlands towards the Dutch East Indies according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche Courant dated Saturday 7 September 1850

An item reported that on the Saturday before admiral De Man visited the Dutch frigate Zr.Ms. Prins Hendrik der Nederlanden.(1) The next day she left the roads of Den Helder, Netherlands underway towards the Dutch East Indies and on Monday was she at 04.30 o’clock passing Scheveningen, Netherlands.

1. Frigate 2nd class, laid down by J. Vos at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on 3 September 1844, launched on 2 December 1847, renamed as floating battery Pollux in 1859, displacement 1.861 tons, dimensions 48 (load line) x 14,4 (inner hull) x 5,7 (fore)-6,2 (aft) x 6,6 (hold below upper deck ) metres and an armament of 38 (4-20”grenade guns, 20 long 30pd guns, 12-medium 30pd guns and 2 long 30 pd guns)-44 guns. Docked as the Pollux on 30 August 1859, undocked on 20 September 1859 and finally broken up.
