Dutch screw steamship 1st class Zr. Ms. Atjeh in 1880 according to the Colonial Account [Dutch East Indies] over 1881


Of the auxiliary squadron. Iron-built wood planked. Launched in 1876. Draught 6,0 metres. Armament consisted of 10 guns. Horsepower 450 nhp. Maximum speed under steam during a watch of 4 hours 14 geographic miles. Tonnage 2.160 tons. Crew numbered on 31 December 1880 195 Europeans (fixed 215)-57 natives *fixed 57). Arrive don 27 March 1880 in the Dutch East Indies. To be used for military services but not be stationed. After her arrival in the Dutch East Indies coming from Cape of Good Hope, South Africa docked at Onrust, Dutch East Indies and at the same time undergoing some minor repairs, departed on 15th May towards Northern Borneo, Philippines and the Solok Archipelago, Returned via Makassar on 19th August at Surabaya, departed on 3rd September towards Australia, Returned on 13th January at Batavia after visiting Timor.(1)
