American personal health preparations for battle according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 8

An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau dated November 1913 reported that in the US Navy when ordered to was prepare for battle all men were to take a bath and dressed in clean clothes. The reason for this order was to prevent that wounds were contaminated.
