Dutch minesweeper (ex-BYMS-38 1942-1943, BYMS-2038 1943-1946) Hr. Ms. Marsdiep (MV 37 later M 934) 1947-1956


Of the Borndiep-class. Laid down at the shipyard of Barbour Boat Works, New Bern, USA as the BYMS-38 on 14 May 1942, launched on 30 September 1942, completed on 14 April 1943, transferred to the Royal British Navy on 20 April 1943, served as the HMS BYMS-2038, returned on paper to the USA on 10 April 1946, loaned to the Royal Netherlands Navy on 18 March 1946, sold to the Netherlands on 27 July 1947 (although also claimed in March 1947) and decommissioned in 1956 becoming the diving vessel A-906 and finally stricken in 1962. With a displacement of 270 ton and as dimensions 41,5 x 7,5 x 2,5 metres. Her crew numbered 32 men. The horsepower of 1.000 hp allowed a speed of 15 knots. The armament consisted of 1-8,9cm gun and 2-2cm machine guns.
