German battle cruiser SMS Von der Tann performing very well during trials according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad 1910-1911 no. 9
An item referred to the Journal R.U.S.J. reporting that the new German armoured cruiser1st class SMS Von der Tann, the first German dreadnought and which with success executed the yards trials now was prepared for the official trial. During the yards trials on the North Sea developed the turbines 71.500 hp which was far above the contracted horsepower and achieving a maximum speed of 27,6 miles, more as 2 miles above the contracted speed of 25 miles. The magazine Schiffbau reported that during measured mile trial off Neukrug a maximum speed of 27,398 miles was achieved.(1)
