German navy founding mine service stationed at Cuxhaven, Germany according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1905-1906 no. 3

An item referred to the magazine Le Yacht reporting that as a result of the war between Japan and Russia Germany decided to found a mine company at Cuxhaven. Cuxhaven was to be the centre for defending the North Sea and within 12 hours could the entrance to the Elbe river be blocked by so-called ‘sleeping and guarding’ mines.
