German navy introducing 55cm torpedo according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1913-1914 no. 4

An item reported that the German navy introduced the new 55cm torpedo with a maximum range of 7.000 kilometres and a speed of 29 miles. The speed was not sublime but she was loading with 130 kilo explosives. The test results were far better than for the 50cm torpedoes. The destroyers were first to be fitted out with the 53cm torpedoes.
