Torpedo nets not 100% protection according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1910-1911 no. 3

An item reported that the torpedo nets which since the last years of the 19th Century no longer used but with recently the German battleships Nassau and Westfalen were fitted out, were sometimes able to stop an torpedo when ships were lying anchored. However the nets did not supplied a total reliable protection. If so reported the magazine were navies these against using for the older ships.
