Whitehead founded torpedo plant in France according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1912-1913 no. 6

An item reported that France was no longer dependent of the delivery of her torpedoes by foreign firms. The well known firm Whitehead founded after deliberations with the navy a new plant at the Saint-Tropez with a torpedo shooting range near Saint Raphael. The plant was to start in September and to deliver over 5 month.
