Austria building 10 torpedo boats under the naval budget 1886 according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1887-1888 no. 10

An item referred to the Austrian naval budget for 1886 in which funds were asked for purchasing 2 large and 8 smaller torpedo boats. Under the budget 1885 were from Yarrow for 280.000 Dutch guilders two large torpedo boats bought. Under the budget 1886 was 200.000 Dutch guilders available while it was cheaper to build these boats self then buying from Yarrow. Self building was cheaper while the models were available and the workmen more experienced and in this manner spending less wages while the building was faster.
