Haiti converted steamship Adirondack into gunboat Le Croyant according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1905-1906 no. 8

An item reported that Haiti bought for her navy the in 1888 launched steamship Adirondack of the Hamburg Amerika Line. She was to be armed and fitted out with an armour deck.(1)

1. Launched by the shipyard of Aitken and Mansel Whiteinch, Glasgow, Scotland with yard number 135 on Friday 7 September 1888 for the Atlas Steamship Company Ltd. , Liverpool. England, 1905 owned by the HAPAG  and which was bought by Haiti in 1905, stricken in 1920. Renamed Le Croyant in Haitian service as a gunboat. Tonnage 2.167 tons and as dimensions 290.4 x 37.1 feet.
