US Navy buying more spare ammunition according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1905-1906 no. 10

An item referred to the magazine Marine Rundschau that the American budget contained a post of 4.600.000 US dollars for spare ammunition. A battleship was able to spent within 1,5 hours the storage ammunition for the heavy and medium guns and the intention was to double the spare storage. Costs this for gunpowder 2.500.000 and for shells 2.063.000 US dollars. Costs total spare storage was 10 million US dollars.
