Japanese navy not intended in using guns heavier as 30,5cm guns according to the Dutch magazine Marineblad dated 1911-1912 no.7

An item referred to the Tokyo Asahi which reported that the Japanese navy not intended to use a larger calibre as 30,5cm guns. They feared that the rate of fire would decreased and that lacking sufficient visibility it nearly impossible was to fire over distances over 10 kilometres. Yet, the 30,5cm guns was still able to pierce armour with a thickness of 28cm.
