British naval shipbuilding program according to the Dutch magazine Marinebladno. 3 dated 1892-1893
An item referred to the magazine Engineering reported that lord George Hamilton announced the British naval shipbuilding program while introducing the requested naval budget. It included 3 battleships with a large displacement, high speed and coal bunker capacity, high freeboard, 4 heavy guns and a large number of quick firing 6”100 pd guns. Further more 5-1.070 ton torpedo gunboats with as dimensions 250 x 30.6 feet. Horsepower with natural draft of 2.500 ihp and with forced draft 3.500 ihp resulting in a speed of 17-17.5 respectively 19 miles and an armament of 2-4.7” quick firing guns and 4-6 lbs quick firing guns and 5-19” torpedo launchers and 10 torpedo boats.
